Interstuhl is an independent, owner-run family company. Today's owners are Werner Link (Managing Director), the sons Joachim Link (Managing Director, Production and Logistics) and Helmut Link (Managing Director, Sales), and his sister Lenore Link.
The independence of the company, with its craft based traditional heritage and focus on personal relationship with clients and market partners are fundamental elements of Interstuhl, both now and for the future.People today spend a lot of time seated. This requires the highest level of expertise in the manufacture of chairs. “Seating knowledge: our advantage” is our motto. We are a German company, developing high quality chairs for offices and buildings, which we sell around the world. Our production facilities are located 1 hour south of Stuttgart. Our products are characterised by exceptional design, excellent ergonomics, state-of-the-art technology and a high degree of environmental awareness. The front cantilever seat edge makes it easy to find a comfort-able setting of the seat inclination.The innovative suspension on the rear seating area means the seating height no longer has to be manually adjusted, just like the height of the lumbar support when the seat inclination is adjusted.
The Body-Float synchronous mechanism allows the body to glide backwards and downwards in a gentle flowing movement. This generates a floating and completely relaxed feeling while seated. The mechanism covers a wide weight spectrum of 45 – 140 kg.
The backrest is segmented by means of fine bars. These are narrow yet highly stable. The membrane is stretched between the bars and generates a tremendously high level of freedom of movement and support for the back.
All operational controls are adjusted intuitively. The hand wheel provides fine adjustment of the dual Bodyfloat mechanism return force.
The astiv seat depth adjustment effectively extends the seating area and thus the seating area for the thighs. The base of the backrest remains unaffected.
